Introduction
The purpose of this module is to introduce and examine the process of inquiry as research. The module discusses the Inquiry Processing Cycle as a framework for engaging in research and inquiry. The Inquiry Processing Cycle is an instructive model for teaching about the inquiry process (Byker et al., 2017). The module aligns with the Boyer Commission’s (1999) recommendation that colleges and universities should transform their undergraduate programs to support student learning through research and inquiry.
Assessment Activity
Using the Inquiry Processing Cycle, learners will identify and refine research question(s) for a selected topic or issue under study. Then, learners will also write an Annotated References or Bibliography activity about their research questions. The activity description is based on APA citation style, but this can be changed by the professor.
