The Global Impact of UNC Charlotte’s GREET Center

UNC Charlotte’s GREET Center in Morocco

The Global-ready Research and Equitable Education in Teaching (GREET) Center at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) has established a groundbreaking affiliation with the American TESOL Academy (Morocco, Algeria, and Lebanon). This collaboration aims to enhance the TESOL training experience for aspiring teachers in North Africa and the Middle East, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to teach effectively in an increasingly globalized world.

The Morocco-based American TESOL Academy is renowned for its exceptional TESOL training programs, which have successfully prepared hundreds of teachers to work not only in Morocco but also in other countries such as China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Through this new affiliation, the GREET Center at UNC Charlotte will contribute its expertise in education, research, and global competencies to enhance the training of teachers in Morocco, Algeria, and Lebanon.

Already, a significant number of teacher learners have benefited from the GREET Center’s modules, reflecting the positive impact of this affiliation on the education sector. Through this affiliation, both the GREET Center at UNC Charlotte and the American TESOL Academy are set to redefine the landscape of teacher education and training, ultimately benefiting students, teachers, and communities worldwide. As we move forward, we look forward to witnessing the incredible achievements that will result from this exciting partnership.
